NERO® Fletching Play-test

Objective
1) To increase the value of the archery in the current NERO system.

Fletching – The skill Fletching allows the character to create bows and arrows much like those produced with Smithing, yet with the Fletching skill more advanced bow and more damaging arrows can be created. The cost for fletching is:

Elves can purchase this skill at -1 build.

With a single level of Fletching a player can make a quiver of 20 arrows, or half a bow. A player could not make half a weapon so to make a full bow it would take 2 levels of Fletching. There is no cost associated with creating the above items using the Fletching Skill.

In addition to the making of bows and arrows a Fletcher may make modifications to items which are detailed below. All items made with the skill fletching last for two years from the date of creation. Items with modifications must be acquired in game; they cannot be bought with goblin stamps. Special abilities of Fletching:

In order to use any special ability the Fletcher must be able to do so without a workshop though the total level are still doubled if they use a workshop.

Silvering a quiver of arrows– Silvering a quiver of arrows uses up 1 level of production ability. In addition the fletcher must spend 20 silver piece per quiver. The silvering of a quiver lasts for the duration of the quiver being silvered.

Strengthen a Bow – A Fletcher may re-enforce a bow which adds damage to the call of anyone firing the bow the bonus is not magical. This bonus is not additive with damage aura bows and the higher bonus only will count. The bonus will last only till the next full reset period where production skills would reset. The Fletcher must use 3 levels of production to add a plus one bonus to a bow. The Fletcher must spend 9 levels of production to add a plus two bonus to a bow. The fletcher must spend 21 levels of production to add a plus three bonus to a bow. No Fletcher can add a bonus greater than plus three to a bow. A weapon cannot be strengthened multiple times.

Enhanced Arrows - A Fletcher may create new more powerful arrows, by modifying the heads, shafts and veins of the arrows. These new arrows are not magical. This bonus is not additive with damage aura bows and the higher bonus only will count. The following table shows the production level need to be used to make Enhanced Arrows:
